Interpreting Messianen's Piano Music: call for paper

The Royal Academy of Music is pleased to announce a call for papers for the Symposium "Interpreting Messiaen's Piano Music", held in association with the Southbank Centre's Messiaen Centenary Festival From the Canyons to the Stars and in affiliation with the Royal Musical Association.
The symposium will be held on Friday 17 October 2008, from 9.30am to 5.00pm, followed by a concert featuring solo piano music by Messiaen given by Academy piano students in the Duke's Hall at 7.30pm. It will include contributions from Peter Hill and Pierre-Laurent Aimard, and conclude with a round-table discussion chaired by Roderick Chadwick. There will be two sessions of three 30 minute papers/presentations each, including performance (if appropriate), questions and discussion, chaired by David Gorton. The theme for the symposium will be specifically practice-based, with papers being selected on the strength of the research questions posed in the area of Messiaen's piano music. The symposium will be free to attend and fully open to the public with no need to register.

英國政府將貫徹藝術館參觀免門票政策

英政府為籌辦2012年倫敦奧運會，繼今年年初不惜犯眾怒，宣布褫回1億1250萬樂彩藝文補助款之後，在國家預算總體檢(CSR)前夕，再度預告要將包括大英圖書館、英國藝術理事會、MLA等公單位未來三年的年度預算緊縮6個百分點。在藝文界一片寒氣瀰漫之際，英國文化媒體與體育部(DCMS)日前釋出善意，宣布將努力貫徹藝廊美術館免門票至2011年、致力投入規劃2012文化奧林匹亞(Cultural Olympiad)、增列外交部門預算予英國文化協會(British Council)、BBC廣播電台、阿拉伯電視台等，是否為口頭支票英國各界密切觀察中。（消息來源：國家文化藝術基金會）

2008 北京現代音樂節-5/26至5/31

新華網北京４月２２日電（記者白瀛）由中央音樂學院、江蘇省演藝集團主辦的第５屆“北京現代音樂節”將于５月２５日至３０日舉辦，屆時將有來自美國、新西蘭、奧地利、意大利、法國、韓國及中國各地的藝術家和演出團體演出數十場，並有１０余場專題講座和研討會。

　　據音樂節組委會主席、中央音樂學院院長王次炤介紹，在５月２５日和５月２６日的兩場歡迎音樂會中，美國西雅圖新音樂團演奏的“西雅圖之聲”音樂會將包含各國的先鋒作品，河北省交響樂團演奏的《太行烽火》是為紀念中國人民抗日戰爭暨世界反法西斯戰爭勝利６０周年而作。
　　此外，國際音樂家帶來的音樂會還包括：奧地利維也納“拼貼畫”樂團的室內樂音樂會、法國演奏家露易莎·塞羅的現代長笛作品音樂會、美國演奏家安德魯·佐恩的現代吉他作品音樂會、美國電子音樂家尼爾·羅裏尼克和肯尼思·菲爾茨的專場音樂會、韓國創樂會當代作品音樂會等。

　　由中方擔任主演及主奏的音樂會包括：由作曲家廖乃雄改編自同名昆曲的大型合唱敘事曲《桃花扇》音樂會；由中國戲劇梅花獎獲得者柯軍主演的新概念昆曲《藏·奔》，由青年演奏家鄒翔擔任獨奏的紀念梅西安誕辰１００周年音樂會《聖嬰二十默想（全套）》，青年手風琴演奏家王璐璐帶來的現代作品音樂會，以及由北京交響樂團演出的現代交響樂作品音樂會。

　　本屆音樂節將繼續舉行全國音樂院校學生作品現場演奏及點評係列，還將舉辦梅西安作品及藝術思想研討會，以及意大利作曲家毛裏齊奧·加布裏埃利、新西蘭作曲家傑克·博迪、美術家朝戈帶來的專題講座。

You can either manually enter chords or import chord symbols from Band-in-a-Box ® files.
Scale suggestions are based on conventional music theory, experience, and research.
The software usually provides secondary scale choices.
Both summary and detail reports can be printed out for each chord chart.
Music reading is not required (but is encouraged). Explanations are generally informal.
Scales covered include: Major, Natural Minor, Harmonic Minor, Jazz Minor (aka Melodic Minor Ascending), Dorian, Pentatonic, Blues, Diminished, Whole Tone, Dominant Seventh (aka Mixolydian).
Guitarist? The program is not instrument specific, but scale and chord diagrams are provided in "HELP". You need only have some command of the pentatonic scale to get started. Most scales are diagrammed as variations of the pentatonic scale (which is also diagrammed).

Steinberg Cubase 4

Cubase 4.0是Steinberg公司被Yamaha收購後的第一次重大升级，相較Cubase SX 3.0，Cubase 4（英文版）的主要新特性有：
